Such a cute cardi...

The great-grand-daughter of a haberdasher, Sophie is a sewing mother, a knitting mother and has been a blogger for 2 years now; Sophie is Miss Grain de Sel. She is particularly fond of simple knits when it comes to knitting for children.

She 's knitted her Bow Cardigan several times, being first inspired by several tutorials that she then personalized to end up with this cute cardigan. And then, Sophie wrote her own tutorial for a 3-year old girl, in French and in English; you can find it here. Don't forget to take a look at her other works. Her blog is a rich source of inspiration for anyone who likes to knit or sew.

The yarn Sophie used in her cardigan is Bouton d'Or  Baby Superwash, which is very similar to Fonty BB Merino. Their gauge are really close: 29 st for 4" for Baby superwash as opposed to 30 st in 4" for BB merino.  They have the same mass per unit, i.e. 200 m for 50g of yarn.

What you'll need to make knit this piece...

To fit a 3 year-old girl, you'll need...

Sophie conceived her cardigan in grey, but what about making it in light grey 865, navy 861, or natural 863? Or, you can also customize it by knitting it in BB merino, but by working the bow in PurPle Merino ( 20 g will be enough) in dark grey, natural or peach.

Thank you Sophie for sharing it with us!
